Death Valley Sand Dunes - Black & White (2008) : The Sand Dunes in their small confine on Death Valley's floor move about and reshape with the winds, and are favorites of visitors and photographers. My footprints last only until the next strong wind, and then are gone forever.

Death Valley Racetrack - Black & White (2008) : No one really knows why the rocks move, leaving ghostly trails on the dry lake bed, but Move They Do!! Perhaps it's ice conditions, or wetness, that enables these large, 50 - 70 pound rocks to work their magic. These are a spectacular sight, and well worth the trip on 28 miles of gravel, dusty road -- and a flat tire on my new truck -- to get here.

Slot Canyon, Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona 2006 : These narrow canyons cut into the sandstone are created by flooding water rushing through the cracks in the earth. The water at flood is quite dangerous, but afterwards the canyon's beauty comes out. The local Navaho tribe in Page escorts tourists and photographers into the canyons. Be sure to bring your tripod!!

Vietnam Memorial : I took these photos on a trip to Washington, DC, in 2006. Visitors come to this memorial in large numbers still, and many are looking for their relatives, friends and neighbors' names inscribed there. It was a moving sight to me, one from the Vietnam generation, and I hope you find it that way as well. The images with the people are not for sale.

Mountain Storms : On Memorial Day weekend 2008 we visited the Eastern Sierra, including Bishop, Lee Vining-Mono Lake, and the White Mountains Bristlecone Pine Forest. A late Spring storm had dumped some pretty heavy snow at higher elevations, and even Tioga Pass into Yosemite was closed during the weekend. I especially like the Ranger Station image showing the blanket of snow in the trees and surrounding the log-cabin-like building.

Your Bio

Dave Clark is an avid photographer, cyclist and Cal Bears fan, where he went to school in the 60s. He's been taking pictures for decades, and actually attended photo classes at places like Otis Parsons, Irvine Valley College, numerous workshops, and some online schools to improve his work.

If you'd like to see about his day job, check Dave's insurance lawyer website http://www.clarklawfirm.com, where you'll learn more about insurance than you will ever want to know. His Mediation site is at http://www.clarkmediation.com, where there's a stuffy picture of Dave in a coat and tie.

Enjoy the pictures here at Smugmug. There are more to come.
